On Tuesday, May 19, 2009, Norway House Peace Initiative and the Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights - U.S. Foundation hosted a forum at the Hubert H Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota. The panel consisted of Ambassador Rolf Willy Hansen former Consul General in Minneapolis and now Norway's Ambassador to Syria, Imam Senaid Kobilica, President of the Islamic Council in Norway, Ms. Ingrid Vik, Senior Advisor, Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights, and Dr. Abdi Samatar,U of M Professor of Geography and Global Studies. Welcoming remarks were made by Dean Brian Atwood, who also was the moderator of the event. Carol Engebretson Byrne spoke about how the discussion was framed and closing remarks were made by Janet Dolan on behalf of Norway House Minnesota Peace Initiative and the Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights - US Foundation.
